With the invention of airplanes, people can go to most big cities in the world within 24 hours. Sometimes I hear people asking, “How long does it take to fly there?” I think this question is interesting because they are asking the amounts of traveling time instead of geographical space when they want to know how far places are. Thus, I think “time” might be an alternative measurement of physical distance.Based on the idea, I created a “map” starting from my homeland, Taiwan. As each hour goes, it shows the cities I can go to within that amount of time. For example, Hong Kong is about one hour flight, Seoul two hours, and Argentina 24 hours. This map starts with the white background representing 0 to 12 hours, and the black one 13 to 24 hours.
